In January 2015, local artist, Martina Cleary came to Tubber School as part of the Artists in Schools Scheme. The children in the junior room were given the opportunity to create a stop animation project about ‘Hickey the Hen’. From this, we published a book which can be seen in the school. It was great fun!
The children in the senior room created a project entitled ‘The school on the crossroads’. Each child was responsible for researching different aspects of the school, e.g. its history, geography in the local area, historical stories from the locality, etc. This was put together using stop animation and a DVD was created.
In June, Cathy Halloran from RTE News came to our school to see the wonderful work we had done.
