At the moment, in the senior room, we are working together to research what life was like for people in the early part of the 20th century.
We have found that the 1921 census has been very interesting. We found the census on the National Archives of Ireland. Some of us found information on our great grandparents. Most of them were very young at the time of the census. We were able to find out what age they were at the time, who they lived with and what type of house they lived in. We also found out whether or not they could read or write and also if they spoke both Irish and English.
We plan to see if we can go even further back and will be looking at the 1901/1911 census next. We are all looking forward to finding out more interesting facts.
